Deadline: 29 August International iJETS is a multi-disciplinary journal, focusing on the complex relationship between science and technology and their wider socio-cultural contexts. iJETS attracts submissions from diverse perspectives. Previous articles have examined the social implications of various emerging technologies, from biotechnology and cybernetics, genetic parentage testing and genetically modified crops, mobile Internet and wireless interfaces, online civic engagement and risk, trust and attitudes towards new technologies, gaming and love online. Oxford e-Research Conference 2008
11-13 September, Oxford, UK International This multi-disciplinary, international conference on e-Research will be held at the University of Oxford from 11-13 September 2008. It is being organized by a consortium of research projects in association with the journal Information Communication and Society (iCS). The Oxford e-Research Conference 08 seeks to stimulate and inform multi-disciplinary research on the development, use and implications of information and communication technologies (ICTs), like the Internet, in shaping research across the disciplines. It will bring together research from key e-Research projects from around the world examining the role of the Internet, Web and the Grid in research. 29-30 September, Sydney NSW Interest areas include ICT, digital media, telecommunications, broadcasting, communications culture, Internet and e-commerce. It is a research-oriented forum open to all viewpoints; a co-operative effort by a number of policy and research centres. The attendance for this annual gathering of people with a serious interest in communications has grown by over 40 per cent in each of the last two years. In 2007 were 75 speakers or authors, and 23 sessions filling two days. We expect this year's to grow even more, because broadband and the digital economy have become national priorities.
